A pair of bound volumes of Godey’s Lady’s Book magazine. This American women’s magazine, published by Louis A. Godey of Philadelphia, includes features such as articles, poetry and numerous engravings, including some hand-tinted engravings. This collection includes two bound volumes of Godey’s Lady’s Book: volume XXVIII collects the magazine from January to June 1844, and volume XXX collects January to June 1845. Both volumes are bound in half leather with marbled boards and gilt spine lettering, which gives the title as Godey’s Ladies’ Book.
