Bing and Grondahl plates featuring the work of Hans Christian Andersen. The two plates both feature intricate cut out designs in the porcelain around their edges as well as full color images originally drawn by Hans Christian Andersen on their faces. One depicts a woman bedside with a cat and chicken and is titled ‘The Ugly Duckling’ on its reverse. The other depicts people surrounding a young boy in a trunk and is titled ‘Little Claus and Big Claus’ on its reverse. Both are marked by their makers on their backs and feature holes to be string or wire hung by.
