Towle Sterling Silver "Charlemagne" Flatware Set

A ninety-four piece set of sterling silver flatware by Towle. The collection is in the Charlemagne pattern first issued by the Towle silversmiths in 1963. The assortment is composed of twelve dinner forks, twelve salad forks, twenty-six teaspoons, two lobster forks, twelve iced tea spoons and four serving spoons. Also included are twelve dinner knives, twelve butter spreaders and a master butter knife, all with hollow sterling handles and stainless steel blades. The group also contain a pie server with a stainless blade and several serving utensils. There are impressed marks reading ‘Towle Sterling’ in addition to the lion in shield logo mark. The total approximate weight is 85.890 ozt excluding the knives and pieces with stainless steel components.
