A large collection of ephemera from a collection of works by well-listed American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904 – 1997). The collection includes a large amount of chromogenic photographs on Kodak paper with images of a variety of prints, murals, and paintings by Yaeger. Presented as a loose collection without frames or mats.
Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
