An early 20th century Hepplewhite style breakfront in mahogany. This handsome cabinet enjoys a carved cornice with acanthus leaf, dentil and fluted lozenge borders, with raised floral medallions to the front corners. The two center glass doors are detailed with Gothic motif fretwork.The interior of the top is composed of three cabinets, each lined to the back with gold and cream damask style foliate wallpaper and three adjustable wooden shelves. The base cabinet is designed with four doors in beautiful mahogany crotch veneers, the doors trimmed in raised trim with chamfered corners, with raised floral medallions to the corners and with raised oval trim to the centers. The straight base is detailed to the top with carved acanthus leaf trim. The breakfront is original to a New York City apartment overlooking Central Park.
