Pino Signoretto Teal Glass Sculpture of an Embracing Couple

An art glass sculpture from the ‘Gli amanti’ series by well listed Murano artist Pino Signoretto (Italian, born 1944). Executed in translucent teal glass, this depicts an embracing couple who stand on a cylindrical plinth. It is signed along the top edge of the base. Signoretto trained with Murano master Alfredo Barbini, and himself became a master glass blower in 1960. He opened his own atelier in 1978, and has become one of of the most sort ot Murano glass sculptures and a frequent collaborator with Dale Chihuly and Lino Tagliapietra. His work is represented in the permanent collections of the Corning Museum of Glass, the Museum of Venetian Art in Otaru, the Duomo di Montevarchi, and the Hindu Temple of Cincinnati among many more.
