An oil painting on paper titled Flowers by listed American artist Edgar Hatten (1929-1990), created in 1982. This work features a textured still life of stylized flowers in a pot, portrayed with a cool palette. The work is signed to the verso of the painted paper and inscribed to the mat verso in graphite, “Edgar Hatten signed verso, Flowers, 1982.” It is presented under a white mat and wrapped in acetate.
Edgar Hatten is known for his portrayals of abstract still-lifes and landscapes with a focus on expressing mood. He was born in Wyoming and lived most of his life in Los Angeles. He taught at Swinbourne College in Australia, East Los Angeles College, and Citrus College.
