1942 "Metropolitan Opera" and 1939 Opera Librettos Books

A collection of three vintage books on opera. The Authentic Librettos of the Italian Operas and The Authentic Librettos of the French and German Operas (1939, Crown Publishers of New York), contain between them the librettos for a total of twenty-three well-known operas, along with English translations and the music of the principal airs. The Metropolitan Book of the Opera (1942, Garden City Publishing Co.), is a reference book of opera synopses and biographical sketches by Pitts Sanborn and Emil Hilb. All three books are bound in full red cloth on boards.
