This collection includes assorted 1910s programs from the Belasco Theatre on Broadway, the Metropolitan Opera House of Philadelphia and other theatres; two issues of The Playgoer: The Magazine in the Theatre; promotional photographs; and a large collection of sheet music, primarily songs from early-twentieth-century musical comedies and motion pictures. Highlights include ‘I Can’t Give You Anything But Love (Baby)’ from Lew Leslie’s Blackbirds of 1928, ’Dat’s Love’ from Carmen Jones, ‘Cheerful Little Earful’ from Sweet and Low, ‘Hold Me’ from the Ziegfield Follies of 1920, _’Hello, Young Lovers’ from Rogers and Hammerstein’s The King and I, and more.
