A Sino-Persian area rug. This wool rug, likely made in China, is finely hand-knotted in a palette of cream, caramel, black, and periwinkle. It features a densely populated, Persian Kerman-inspired floral field incorporating sprays of flowers, swirling vines, and foliage over a cream ground. The field is framed by three floral borders, including a primary border grounded in black and minor borders grounded in cream. Selvedges are overcast. Ends finish with long, knotted ivory wool warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
