Graphite on paper

A selection of graphite and gouache fashion sketches by artist Mario. These six illustrative sketches feature women in circa 1940s attire, wearing flowing dresses, long jackets with angular shoulder pads, floral hats and gloves. The compositions are predominately rendered with thin contour of graphite with minimal shading, while the close up portrait in profile is composed of gouache pigment. To the lower margins of each composition is an artist signature. The drawings are affixed to larger pieces of paper.

Condition

- to poor; toning to paper; edges are creased and torn; two drawings have been folded.
