A Japanese woodblock print of the female waka poet Nakatsukasa (中務, 912-991). She is depicted wearing an elaborate, twelve-layered jūnihitoe kimono, typical for nobels of the Heian period (794-1185) in which Nakatsukasa lived. She pensively stares upwards while clutching at a hand-fan. Printed inscriptions identify the subject, while one of her poems is printed in running calligraphy above her portrait. The print is presented in a wide mat.

- slight edge wear to mat; residue to mat and print; slight warpping to mat; staining and foxing to verso.
