Decorative Vintage Style Wood Boxes, Trays, and Plates With Ornate Patterns
Item Details
A grouping of six items including two wood boxes, two trays, one small plate, and one lid. The boxes and lid feature similar motifs, with carved radial geometric designs in earth tones. The plate is similarly colored and carved, with a central geometric six-sided star shape, floriate details, and a repeating pattern around the edge. One of the trays is richly colored in red and gold tone paint, with decorative acanthus leaf patterning and a maker’s mark to the underside, appearing to read ‘Franco’. The second tray is a Florentine shape, with delicately painted flowers and acanthus leaves in ocher, pink, blue, and orange. It is marked ‘Made in Japan’ to the underside, with a patent number.
