An engraving of a girl with two cows engraved by A.C. Ala (last letter of name cut off by mat) after a painting by Edwin Douglas. This work features a milkmaid leading two cows through an ethereal, wooded pasture. The girl carries a jug in her left hand in anticipation of the job at hand. It is signed and dated, ’78, in plait to the lower left. Published by George Stinson & Co. Portland Maine. It is presented in an off-white mat under glass and in a wood frame.
Condition
- tear through center of print; brown mark to upper center of print; debris under glass; nail through front of frame to lower left; nicks and general wear to frame.
