A hand-colored engraving after F. C. Turner, titled The Fox Hunt. This print, which was originally engraved by Charles Hunt, depicts a scattered hunting party composed of aristocratic men wearing colored jackets on horseback following a pack of beagles, one of which clutches at a fox. The scene sprawls into the rolling countryside. To the lower margins are in plate inscriptions denoting artist, title, a blurb contextualizing the scene, as well as a remarque composition. The print is presented under glass in a stained wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- glass could benefit from cleaning; chipping and wear to frame surface; slight puncture to top right corner of paper backing.
