1989 Offset Lithograph Poster After Peter Max's "Peace by the Year 2000"

A circa 1989 offset lithograph poster print on paper after a painting by well-listed German-American Pop artist Peter Max (born 1937). The piece, titled Peace by the Year 2000, depicts an abstract female figure with flowing colorful hair, set in side profile against a blue background. The print includes a small remarque drawing in black marker to the upper left depicting a running man and Japanese ship. The image is signed in plate to the upper left with an additional notation in marker to the lower center of ‘To Jeron, Love Max, 89’. The poster includes the work title printed in plate to the lower margin, with small notations to the edges of ‘Peter Max, 1989’ and ‘Made Exclusively for the United Nations Bookstore’. It is presented under glass in a black wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
