235th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps Commemorative Figurine

A figurine made to commemorate the 235th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps. The small figurine is made of brass and depicts six Marines raising the flag on Iwo Jima which took place on February 23, 1945. The brass figurine rests atop sand that was taken from Mount Suribachi where the event took place. The piece rests on an oval wooden base with a rich cherry stain with gold tone words that read ‘United States Marine Corps; Iwo Jima, Mt. Suribachi, February 23, 1945.’ A red protective felt bottom is attached to the underside of the piece and reads ‘3D Marine Aircraft Wing, Semper Fidelis.’ An informational card is presented with the piece and comes presented in its original box.
