A vintage etching on paper titled Indian Summer by American artist Ernest C. Rost (1867 – 1940). This highly detailed, realistic piece depicts a path along a waterway leading to a quaint town in the distance, with birds skimming the water and soaring by towering, bare trees. The work is signed and titled in plate to the lower right, with Fishel, Adler & Schwartz listed as the publisher to the upper left of the image. This print is presented under a mat and glass, in a gold tone decorative frame with ormolu ornaments and hanging wire affixed to the verso.

Condition

- foxing, stains, and discoloration to print; horizontal stains across mat and print; surface wear, marks, and scratches to frame; frame is missing upper and lower right corners; metal ormolu at top right corner is loose.
