A circa 1938 etching with aquatint on paper by artist August Potuceck. The piece depicts a European cathedral with large stained glass windows and a central spire. The work is signed in graphite to the lower right, with additional handwritten notations to the lower margin that include ‘La Chiesa del celebre Menobel ou piedi dello Spielberg Bruna, 20 Novembre 1938’. The print is presented under glass in an off-white wooden frame with a hanging loop to the verso.
Condition
- to Fair; toning and foxing to paper; wear, staining, surface wear and chipping to frame; frame joints are not fully flush; heavy wear, toning and discoloration to verso with visible nails to the edges; no backing paper present.
