A pair of oil paintings of landscapes. Included is an monochromatic oil painting on canvas featuring a simplified abstracted landscape in shades of blue. A central mountain in the background dominates the composition. This work is illegibly signed to the lower right; it remains unframed. Also included is an oil painting on canvas board featuring a rural landscape. Portrayed with loose brushstrokes, this work features a receding dirt path surrounded by overgrown foliage, trees, and a body of water in the background. No signature was found on the work; illegible handwriting is present to the verso. The canvas board remains unframed.
Condition
- landscape with trees has craquelure throughout; residue stain to center of landscape with trees; wear and paint loss along edges of both paintings; lots of paint loss and rubbing throughout blue landscape; blue landscape painting has small dent to center and abrasions to upper right.
