A watercolor and gouache painting on paper by Hollywood art director Charles K. Hagedon (American 1914-1968) for the 1955 film Hit the Deck. This painting depicts a man wearing a sailor’s unifrom and a woman wearing a white dress descending a set of steps in a Hellish landscape. The painting is signed to the lower right corner and marked 1659 and below the painting in the margin is a label with information about the artwork and movie. The painting is housed in a silver tone metal frame with a large white mat.

- piece was askew in frame, repositioned
- slight stains to window mat
