Graphite Drawing on Paper of Subjects From Florence
Item Details
Graphite on paper
A graphite drawing on paper of subjects from Florence. This monochromatic drawing depicts a surreal composition of what appears to be nude figures clutching at one another, with a sketched rendering of a horse-drawn carriage emerging to the lower left corner. Seen from the distance is a bearded man seated with both legs crossed, staring at a book. To lower margins is a handwritten inscription, possibly attributing these subjects as originating in Florence, Italy in 1929, as well as an illegible artist signature. The drawing is presented under glass beneath layered matting in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
