A Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print of a robed woman by Utagawa Kunisada (歌川 国貞, 1786-1865), also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III (三代歌川豊国). This print on paper depicts a woman posed mid-stride in profile, who hikes up her blue robe while peering sneakily through a hood. She walks along a bamboo garden, which is fenced off to the distance. The print’s title is printed in the upper right, and the artist’s ‘Toyokuni ga’ (豊国画) in a toshidama cartouche alongside a Izutsu-ya Shōkichi publisher’s seal. The print is presented under glass beneath matting in a rounded, stained wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.

- to fair; print is cracked and fading; print has slipped from the mat and is wrinkled; dirt behind the glass; paper backing curled and wrinkled.
