Chinese Silk Embroidery of Birds in a Tree
Item Details
A Chinese silk embroidery. This piece recreates the style of an ink and gouache painting with smooth color transitions and illustrative linework on the tree branches. In this piece, a hawk sits on a forked tree branch, wings outstretched and head tilted backwards. In the sky behind him two smaller birds of similar coloring fly, and a large, full, red sun is setting. The piece is presented behind a mat and glass in a wood frame that is wired for hanging.

- foxing and small stains throughout fabric; tear in paper backing.
