Pair of Serigraph Prints on Paper After Paul Gauguin Woodblocks for "Noa Noa"

A pair of serigraphs on paper titled Auti Te Pape and Nave Nave Fenua after Paul Gauguin (1848-1903). These serigraphs are after original woodblock prints created as illustrations for the book Noa Noa by Paul Gauguin to chronicle his first voyage to Tahiti. These reproduction prints depict women of Tahiti in a contrived primitive fashion in tones of black, yellow, and green that Gauguin believed to be a native Oceanic style.
The pieces are not signed, but Auti Te Pape is marked in graphite with notes about the piece. The pieces are presented as loose pages and are unframed.
