Holtmann Oil Painting of an Alpine Church
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas of an alpine church, by an artist appearing to sign the work ‘Holtmann,’ possibly listed German-born artist Willy Holtmann (1908-1984). This work depicts the small white building on the edge of a hillside, the path before it leading to what appears to be a village. A range of atmospheric snow-capped mountains can be seen to the distance. This work is lightly signed to its lower right corner and is presented in a whitewashed wooden frame with a wire for hanging.

- toning, staining, and water damage to verso; patched tear to verso; crazing and marks to painting; wear to frame.
