An oil painting on board of a woman’s portrait by well-listed Russian-American Modernist artist Abraham Baylinson (1882 – 1950). This piece presents a stern woman with a short hairstyle in a dark blouse, with red spot color in her lipstick and brooch contrasting with the neutral color palette. The work is signed in red paint to the lower left edge. It is presented in a silver tone wood frame with hanging wire affixed to the verso. There is an inscription on the board behind the backing paper.

- minor scratches and wear to frame; backing paper is cut open.
