Whiting & Davis Panel Bracelet Japanese Theme

A mid-century hinged panel bracelet from Whiting & Davis, known for producing elegant chainmail and mesh purses beginning in the late 19th century, but also having a history as a silversmithing company and a manufacturer of jewelry. This gold-tone costume piece is composed of four nearly square panels with embossed images of Japan, including Mt. Fuji, pagoda architecture and Buddhist elements. The smaller panels and the end panels depict a ryū, or dragon. This piece is marked ‘Whiting & Davis Co. Bags’ to reverse and has tab closure with safety chain.
