Vintage Hand-Knotted Tekke Bokhara Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage Tekke Bokhara area rug. This wool rug, likely made in Pakistan, is hand-knotted in a palette of burgundy, black, ivory, and camel. It features a classic Bokhara lattice design consisting of Tekke guls interspersed with smaller Chemche guls over a burgundy field. The field is framed by numerous box borders filled with geometric patterns including starburst guls. Above and below the field are horizontal panels, each featuring a lattice of Dyrnak guls. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
