Signed Leslie Mitchell Hand Thrown Stoneware Vessel
Item Details
A pair of hand thrown stoneware vessels. Included is a large, raku-fired vase, having a white crackle raku glaze, accentuated by the black of carbon trapping in the glaze. It is signed to the underside by Leslie Mitchell of Dallas. Also included is a large thrown wood-fired stoneware vessel with a mottled eggshell glaze and semi-matte finish over a groggy clay body, having two small applied handles and a narrow ribbon of cobalt blue glaze at the rim. The vessel shows wadding marks from the firing on the base, and it is unsigned.
