A hand-knotted Shiraz area rug. It features a lattice pattern of diamond medallions with a saw tooth edge in a palette of deep red, cream, and black on a red field. Enclosing the field is a compound border that features a Turkish border in a complementary palette with a cream background in a palette of deep teal, orange, and red. Either end finishes with a short cotton fringe and a single overcast selvage to the edges. Marked to the back ‘Shiraz’.
