Richard Earlom "Liber Veritatis" Etchings With Mezzotint After Claude de Lorrain

A set of two 19th-century etchings with mezzotint on paper, both by listed British artist Richard Earlom (1743 – 1822). The prints originate from Earlom’s work Liber Veritatis, created after paintings by listed artist Claude Le Lorrain (c. 1600 – 1682). The set features Plate 46, A Landscape With a Distant View of the Sea, as well as Plate 124, A Landscape With Cattle. Each includes notations in plate to the lower margin of ‘Claude Le Lorraine delin.’, ‘R. Earlom fecit.’, and ‘John Boydell Engraver in Cheapside, From the Original Drawing in the Collection of the Duke of Devonshire’. The prints are matted in tan and presented under glass in wooden frames with hanging wire to the verso.

- to Fair; toning and foxing throughout prints and matting; minor wear to frames.
