Barker Brothers Covered Dishes with Silver Plated Spoons
Item Details
A pair of silver plated covered dishes by Birmingham manufacturer Barker Brothers, established c. 1860. Each dish has a rectangular shape with rounded corners, featuring a cast grapevine border along the rim of the dish and on the lid and its handle. They are stamped ‘EPNS’ and ‘1924’ along with the Barker Brother’s mark of a three-leaf clover with interior stars to the undersides. The covered dishes also come with a set of twelve spoons and a pair of sugar tongs with matching engraved decoration to the handles. The spoons are marked ‘E.P.N.S.’ to the backsides.
Condition
- to fair; moderate to significant surface wear including dents, scratches and overall tarnishing; finials on dishes are loose.
