A Japanese embellished print on silk. The piece, titled Murasaki Shikibu, depicts the Heian period author wearing layers of elaborate robes that resemble books. The piece includes grey calligraphy and a red seal in plate to the lower right. The textile is matted in patterned black fabric and presented without glass in a gold tone metal frame with hanging wire to the verso.

- several creases to silk; nicks and scratches to frame; no frame glass.
