A semi-antique hand-knotted Shirvan pictorial carpet runner. This runner displays central pole medallions in a palette of sage green, red and smoky peach atop a light brown field adorned with animal forms and geometrical imagery. The rug has a coordinating compound border featuring floral and geometrical shapes finished with brown selvedge and natural warp fringe. The rug has a tag attached to the reverse which reads ‘Hand Woven Carpet and Rug, Hand Made in Iran’.
