Collection of Novelty Liquor Decanters

Item Details

A collection of seven vintage hand-painted novelty ceramic liquor decanters. The collection includes one depicting an Irish soldier in uniform, and another depicting a man wearing a black hat and red uniform. Two decanters depict elephants wearing clothing. One depicts a white bearded southern gentleman wearing a gray hat and black topcoat. Two short decanters are rectangular, and depict high-relief images of patrons in pubs, drinking and gambling. Distillery labels include Boord’s, W. A. Lacey, Heublein Inc., and James B. Beam. Some of the decanters are marked with the ceramic maker’s marks. One is marked ‘Genuine English Ceramic -Handpainted – Carlton Ware Ltd. – Staffordshire – Made in England’. Another is marked ‘Coronetti – Cunardo Italy’. Some are not marked.

- “Old Tom Early English Tavern” is missing stopper
