Offset Lithographs After P.J. Redouté's "Rose Noire et Seneçon Lilas" and Elizabeth Twining's "Leguminosae: Pea Tribe"

A pair of offset lithographs. The first is titled Leguminosae: Pea Tribe after Elizabeth Twining (1805-1889) from her book The Chief Natural Orders of Plants (1849). The print displays an array of flowers with classifications listed below the bouquet and a more detailed description of the categorization below that. It is presented beneath glass in a black and gold tone frame that is wired for hanging. The second print is titled Rose Noire et Seneçon Lilas after Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759-1840). It depicts a single large rose of a deep red and a cluster of smaller purple lilacs, beneath which the title and artist’s name are written. It is presented behind a double mat and glass in a wood frame with a sawtooth bracket for hanging.
