A hand-knotted Romanian pictorial Tree of Life area rug. The rug features a central field in cream that depicts a large tree with intertwined branches covered in leaves, florals, and birds in a palette of powder blue, deep red, black and cream. The field is enclosed by a compound border that features a pattern of trees, birds, and deer in a complementary palette with a red background and is signed to the edge of one side. The rug features an overcast edge with a short kilim skirt and a wool fringe to either end. It is tagged to the back ‘Made in Romania’.
