Anne Miller Fiber Art "The Prince"

Item Details

A piece of fiber art titled The Prince by artist Anne Miller. This piece is a construction of one smaller stretched, black canvas affixed centrally to a larger one to create a tiered piece. Around the border of the larger one are fabric printed seven-eighths ounce tobacco strips and Durham bull patches that have been embellished with embroidery. An embroidered border frames the inner canvas, where two fabric printed and stuffed Durham tobacco labels sit on either side of a central Prince Albert tobacco label. These have the brand name and ‘Garette/Smoking Tobacco’ embellished with stitching. The artist’s name is stitched to the lower left of the piece. Labels to the verso give title, piece, and artist information, as well as awards the piece has won. This piece is wired for hanging.
