Two Hand-colored Lithographs After Jacobus de Rubeis of Flowers and Butterflies

A pair of hand-colored lithographs on paper after engravings by Jacobus de Rubeis (1626-1691). These prints depict a variety of flowers and one butterfly each in pastel watercolors. The artist’s name is printed in plate to the bottom left corner and the bottom right reads ‘Cum Priuil. S. Pontif. P.V. 3’. They are presented behind double mats and glass in gold tone frames that have sawtooth brackets for hanging.

Condition

- print with blue ribbon – buckled in frame; both have wear and abrasions to frame finish.
