Indo-Persian Carved Polychrome Figures
Item Details
A pair of Indo-Persian carved wooden polychrome figures. These figures depict a barefoot young woman in a hijab and long striped skirt, her hand raised to her chin, and a shirtless man with gauged ears and a low ponytail. Both figures, which are painted in moderate detail, stand on squarish bases and do not appear to be signed.
Condition
- chipping and significant paint loss to both; cracking to bases; crack to verso of female figure; holes to verso of male figure.
