Item Details
An offset lithograph after artist Daniel Ridgway Knight, titled Hailing the Ferryman. This print on paper depicts two rustic, countryside woman standing at a large expanse of water, beckoning an unseen figure towards them with their hands and an outward scream while clutching wicker baskets. To the lower right corner of the composition is an in plate signature. The print is presented in a gold tone wooden frame featuring moulded acanthus leaf patterning to the surface. To the verso is affixed hanging wire.
Condition
- wear to frame; piece could benefit from dusting; backing paper punctured; spacer missing at lower left corner of verso.
