Chromolithographs After Joseph Ludlow for "Cassell's Pigeon Book"

A pair of chromolithographs after paintings of fancy pigeons by listed artist Joseph W. Ludlow (1840-1915), made for Robert Fulton’s 1876 publication Cassell’s Pigeon Book. These prints include a portrait titled Magpies, of long-necked show pigeons, and Black Lahore, Red Helmet, Yellow Spot, of wide-eyed birds depicted in an aviary. These prints are signed in print to the lower left and are matted under glass in stained wood frames with wire hangers.
Condition
- toning to prints; tear to left side of “Black Lahore, Red Helmet, Yellow Spot”; wear to frame finishes.
