A framed oil painting on canvas in the style of American artist Harvey Joiner (1852 – 1932). It is unsigned. Depicted is a nighttime illustration of a bayou, written on the back ‘Henry Joiner, 1877, Louisiana Bayou’. It is framed in wood with a gold tone inset and wired for hanging.

Harvey Joiner was a beloved Kentucky artist, who primarily worked in Louisville, with a brief stint in Colorado. He spent most of his time in Cherokee Park, where he fashioned his characteristic summer and fall landscapes.

Condition

Some chipping of wood on frame. Marked in pencil on back.
