Hand-Painted Kashmiri Round Box

Item Details

A hand-painted Kashmiri box. This round lidded box is made of brass-tone metal with decorative cladding. The exterior is lacquered in black with a raised design of yellow leaves and vines. Scattered among the foliate elemets are occasional colorful hummingbirds and songbirds. Handwriting on the underside reads ‘Hand Painted in Kashmir India.’

Condition

- there are some minor scratches; chips to the underside.
