Item Details
A Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print on paper titled featuring two Kabuki actors by Japanese artist Toyohara Kunichika (豊原 国周, 1835-1900). Depicted are the kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjūrō (市川団十郎) as Musashibo Benkei (武蔵坊弁慶) and the actor Ichikawa Kunigorō (市川国五郎) as Kamei Mutsuyoshi (亀井六良). The actor’s names and their roles are printed within cartouches alongside the artist’s printed signature, a publisher seal, a block cutter’s seal, and a censor seal. Presented with a triple white matting, under glass, and housed in a black composite frame.
