Mid 19th Century Spanish Colonial Santos Figure of St. Roch, Patron Saint of Dogs

A mid 19th century polychrome painted carved wooden santos figure of Saint Roch, the patron saint of dogs and invoked against the plague. The piece, Spanish Colonial in origins, is rather large and displays a well carved image of the saint, atop a plinth, displaying the wound on his leg, which was, according to legend, miraculously healed by the dog.

Condition

to good for its age, with a drying crack on the figure from head to waist. Dog detached. The base has two nails which apparently held something else at one time.
