A needlepoint floral area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, cream, saffron, and sage, with highlights in pastel shades. It features a grid design consisting of twelve rectangular panels, grounded in either crimson or cream, each containing a bouquet of mixed flowers including lillies, carnations, roses of sharon, and other blooms. The field is framed by a thin saffron cartouche border grounded in olive-yellow, which also serves as a divider between panels. Edges are serged on all sides, with a protective mesh strip running underneath. An embroidered tag on the underside reads ‘C MFR 2000 CH-2109.’
