Signed Original 1937 Oil Landscape on Canvas

An original oil painting on canvas of a forest landscape with a lake, created in 1937, signed to the lower right what appears to read ‘Berta Kimdodum’; however, no clear artist attribution could be made. This work features an elevated view of a dense forest in the foreground, a valley in the middle-ground, and a lake receding throughout the background. A couple of minuscule red barns are visible in the distance and a cloudy blue sky hovers above. The painting is presented in a textured off-white wood frame with a gold-tone outer edge and a green sight edge.
Condition
- noticeable toning throughout the painting; slight craquelure occurring in various locations; slight wrinkling of the substrate; chip in the frame to the upper left corner; minor abrasion wear throughout frame including scratches, stains, and paint chipping throughout.
