A framed hand colored lithograph with abalone embellishments of Cologne, Germany. This print depicts a long bridge across the Rhine river with multiple passenger and freight ships and the city of Cologne in the background. Small pieces of iridescent abalone shell applied to the boats and structures in the image give the print a unique shine and texture. A brass plaque at the bottom reads Andenken on Cöln Rh.. It is presented under convex glass on a pronounced surface, mounted in a stained wood frame with a hanging string attached to the verso.
Condition
- toning is apparent on the image; there is some damage to the top edge of the image; the frame has some abrasion wear and is coming apart some on the right side.
